Sunshiny Day!

Three days of mid 20 degrees made fast work of our snow and the hounds approve.    We spent most of Saturday outside enjoying it.  I think I walked each one of them for almost an hour, which was almost three hours for me!  Needless to say, but my legs were tired after that was over but I like to walk them separately sometimes just to spend some special "alone" time with each of them.

Sunday I started some "spring" cleaning. That's what I will call it, although I don't know if it counts as that when it really is just that I haven't be keeping up with it lately. Beckett is just as tired from that as his walk yesterday.  He follows me from room to room to room.  Well, except for when I go down to the laundry room, since he won't go down those stairs, but he does wait at the top for me to come back.  Then he looks at me as if to say, "Come on, sit down on the couch with me, I need a nap!".  I almost gave in a few times, believe me.

Squirrels and Sunshine

We had a pretty quiet weekend, lots of time spent out in the sunshine.  The birds and squirrels were active and that gave the hounds some entertainment.

Maddy took a break to catch a few rays.

After reading KB's post, I gave each of them a little extra individual play time this weekend.  Time goes by too quickly and I want to be sure I've enjoyed every minute with them that I can.  So, the floors might be dirty and there are dishes in the sink, but I've got three tired, happy greyhounds snoring peacefully in the livingroom.

No spring yet!

Are we the only hounds in blogville that haven't seen any spring grass yet?

May as well make the best of it...

Miss Veil is not impressed, after seeing all the other dogs enjoying springtime weather.

Golden Girl

Dear Daisy;

Tuff and Holly sent me a message to pass on to you, from the Rainbow Bridge.  They wanted me to let you know that they would be waiting for you, just on the other side, tonight, after you say good-bye to Mom and Dad.  So don’t worry, they have been there for a while now and will show you the way.

Tuff wants to share his favourite peanut butter treats with you, because you won’t be allergic any more. Holly is going to show you where the best swimming hole is and where the never-ending game of fetch is played because your breathing won’t be laboured and your legs won’t be weak; you will be able to swim and run for as long as you want.

The time from puppyhood to old age passes all too quickly but I know you had the very best life any dog could want, because we have the same Mom and Dad. They loved you very much.    We will all miss you here, Miss Daisy, but now you can bark loud, run fast, play hard and eat plenty to pass the time until we all meet again.

Monday Morning

Miss Veil and the time change did not get along.  This morning she said "Shut out that light and come back in an hour!"

Vet Visit

I took Beckett to the vet today to get the little lump on his hock checked out.  Dr. Allen confirmed that it was just a little cyst and nothing to worry about.  Just have to watch it for growth and they could remove it when he has a dental cleaning.  I feel much better having had it looked at.

Beckett enjoyed his car ride and all the attention (and treats) he got from people at the animal clinic.  He also enjoyed meeting the new residents of the clinic...a white bunny rabbit and a cat.

Why are you home?

Mom, it's only Friday - not that we aren't happy you took a day off, but in case you didn't know, this is what we do during the week.  It's only Saturdays and Sundays that we are up and raring to go!

Apparently the fact that I took a vacation day for the first time since last spring doesn't impress them that much!
