Why are you home?

Mom, it's only Friday - not that we aren't happy you took a day off, but in case you didn't know, this is what we do during the week.  It's only Saturdays and Sundays that we are up and raring to go!

Apparently the fact that I took a vacation day for the first time since last spring doesn't impress them that much!

  1. So funny that you say this, because my mother, formerly a second grade teacher, now recently retired, says that she used to feel so guilty going off to work and leaving Riley, her Bichon, home alone, even though my dad has his own business and would stop by once or twice during the day to let him out, etc. Then on her first school vacation, she realized that they pretty much sleep most of the day anyway.

I'm very fortunate that I can take my dogs to work with me most every day, but even at that, they spend a great deal of the time just napping in their bed.

  2. My guys do the same. Rest all week for an outing or two on the weekend.

  4. Apparently they have a weekday routine you're not part of. Don't you love hounds.

  6. I'm pretty sure our two sleep all day while we're at work too. My husband usually takes them for a walk on workday mornings, but since I'm typically home a couple days week, he doesn't usually walk them on those days since they have my company. Buford, however, is such a pest when he doesn't get his daily walk in (even though we have a big fenced yard). Today is one of those days...every time I stand up to walk anywhere in the house, he comes running like "where are we going now, mama?"!

  7. That's so funny. When I take a day off, if I'm up doing things I swear the dogs look at me like I'm disturbing their peace.

  8. That's what we do! I am fed, walked and on my sofa by 7.15am. I then do not move until Mum makes me go outside for a wee in the afternoon! Deccy x

  9. Ha ha ha! We'd have a similar story here, with the exception of Miss Bunny, who'd have her radar ear tuned for the sound of my keys getting ready to take her somewhere!

  10. Lol, how deflating for the ego:) My guys are pretty relaxed about me being home, although they always know where I am and what I'm doing, and like Bunny, even though they appear to be sound asleep, the merest suggestion of a car key rattle has both of them by my side in a millisecond:)
