The weather was exceptional beautiful; if anything a little too hot for the hounds, but thinking back to some of those winter days, I'm not going to complain about the temperature. It also seems to have been the kick-off of the bug season; junebugs, blackflies and mosquitoes are out in full force. Oh and Miss Veil's nemesis - the dreaded bees. While we were out for our walk this morning, she heard that familiar buzzing and immediately turned and pulled hard for home and the safety of the house.
So, welcome back Summer! We hope you stick around longer than a few weeks this year!!
I really wish the insects didn't have to come along with summer. We are having problems with flying things around here and Joey and Scout are not happy.
ReplyDeleteI hate having to use bug spray. Summers here are long, hot and humid. A/C guy is here right now to make sure we are ready for the season.
ReplyDeleteWe so wish we had some of your heat - minus the bugs of course :) It is still bitterly cold over here but the weatherman has promised us some sun soon, lets hope they are right for once!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, I love their collars.

It was warm enough here yesterday to test out the air conditioner...didn't work. Well, at least we have some time to get it fixed before the real heat sets in.
ReplyDeleteYay! Let's hear it for summer!!
ReplyDeleteMiss Veil, why don't you like bees? Not that I'm a fan, but you seem to have a particular dislike for them? Our summer kick off weekend is coming at the end of this week and I can't wait!

I don't like hornets, wasps or horse flies either, not just bees. One of them chased me home a couple of years ago while buzzing around my head. Mom couldn't run fast enough for my liking that time.
DeleteI hope you have a lovely Summer this year ... shame about the bugs. We had the best Autumn, it was certainly drier than our Summer and possibly warmer, only problem was the shorter days. Frankie ignores flies but loves bees. He catches them and licks the pollen off them. He's only been stung once so far! I wish he'd leave them alone. Beryl ignores bees but catches flies, clever girl!
