Well, we had our first really bad thunder and lightning storm of the year last night. We woke up around 2:30 to no power and Beckett doing the hallway walk, up and down, up and down. If I had placed a bet on which of our greyhounds would be the one scared during a storm, I would have lost because he was the last one I would have guessed. He finally settled down once the worst of it had passed and Maddy and Veil never moved at all during the storm. Fast forward a couple hours, all was well at breakfast time and we went back to bed to wait for the power to come on and then Maddy had an anxiety attack and she hasn't come out of it yet. This time she wants OUT of the house and doesn't want to come back in. It was quite hot in here, I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not but we went out and bought two portable air conditioners today. Another thunder storm this evening too but at least it should be over before midnight. Veil really amazed me with how well she deals with everything, I don't think I give her enough credit.
Awww, poor thing. I have two here that are scared of storms. My Tom takes valium. The other is a guest and at her house, they use a thundershirt. Thank goodness we have a basement and the hounds can go down there to get a break!
ReplyDeleteVeil, it's hard being the hound that all aspire to be, isn't it? ;) I'm glad you stayed cool as a cucumber. Our paws are crossed that you have your power back soon! I'm not fond of the heat, either, so I can't fault Maddy for expressing an opinion! Beckett, Lilac would have been out there with you. She likes that Thundershirt of hers for storms a lot.
