Hi all Miss Veil here.

The stars must be aligned... not too hot, not too wet... I was able to get out and have some backyard fun on a beautiful day.

On this sombre anniversary, I hope everyone had a chance to relax and have a little fun with their loved-ones!

Memories

As it starts to feel more and more like fall (which is really my favorite season), I am reminded that the "gotcha days" for all three of my greyhounds are coming up soon.  I was also thinking that as adopters of retired racers, we don't have any puppy pictures of them.  Veil was our first venture into greyhounds and she was the youngest when we brought her home at just under two years old. Beckett was three and a half and Maddy was almost three.  I guess the pictures from the foster homes of the adoption group, which would be the first time we saw what they looked like, are what I consider to be their "baby pictures".

  Maddy's pictures came from Gadsen Correctional in Florida as she was a "prison-dog" from Second Chance at Life Greyhounds and technically, we were supposed to be her foster home.  But come on, one look at that picture of her eyes looking back at me and I knew I'd never be able to let her go.

Miss Daisy

In honour of my mom's birthday today, here are a couple pictures of her other daughter, Miss Daisy Miranda, her beautiful, 12 year old golden retriever.  Happy Birthday Mom from both your girls!

Company's Coming?

Mama said we might be having company tomorrow night and whoever this "Irene" is must be a trouble maker because she and dad have been putting stuff away outside so she won't break anything.  As long as she doesn't play with any of my stuff...even our big blue bowl which Mama calls, pool, got put away.  The weather guy says "Irene" might be slowed down when she gets here so maybe that means she'll be too tired to cause much trouble.




I hope she leaves everyone else's stuff alone, too.
